Abacus and Vedic Maths Initiative

*Abacus & Vedic Maths at Saras Heritage School*

To strengthen foundational numeracy and make Math joyful, Saras Heritage School has introduced *Abacus and Vedic Maths* for students from Grade 1 onwards.

*Abacus* training develops the right brain, enhancing concentration, visualization, listening skills and speed with accuracy. Children learn to perform complex calculations mentally by imagining the abacus, building strong number sense.  

*Vedic Maths* equips students with ancient Indian shortcuts and techniques to solve arithmetic problems faster. It removes math phobia, improves logical thinking and boosts confidence in problem-solving.

Together, these programs align with NEP 2020’s focus on foundational literacy and numeracy and experiential learning.
